Description

The AquaStar 620T15S101 Sumpless Bulkhead Fitting provides a compact suction-outlet connection for compatible 6-inch AquaStar Hockey Puck covers used in swimming pools and spas. Its sumpless design allows the approved suction cover to mount directly over the bulkhead fitting without requiring a conventional recessed drain sump.

The fitting combines a 2-inch male NPT exterior connection with an internal 1-1/2-inch slip socket. This dual connection arrangement gives installers flexibility when connecting the fitting to compatible pool-wall plumbing or adapting the suction outlet to the required pipe layout.

The approximately 1-1/8-inch-long male threaded section allows the fitting to pass through or connect with compatible wall, bulkhead or plumbing components. The internal socket accepts compatible 1-1/2-inch PVC pipe when assembled using an approved PVC primer and solvent cement.

Four mounting points accept the included 316 stainless-steel screws used to secure the approved 6-inch AquaStar suction outlet cover. The corrosion-resistant fasteners are designed for prolonged exposure to treated pool water and outdoor conditions.

When paired with the approved cover and installed according to the applicable AquaStar documentation, the complete assembly provides an approximately 11.4-square-inch open area. Published legacy flow ratings include up to 224 GPM on a floor or wall with 2-inch plumbing, 177 GPM on a floor with 1-1/2-inch plumbing and 122 GPM on a wall with 1-1/2-inch plumbing.

The actual permitted flow must be based on the certification and installation instructions for the complete cover-and-fitting assembly. The bulkhead fitting alone does not carry an independent safe-flow rating and must never be operated without the approved suction outlet cover securely installed.

The fitting is suitable for qualifying gunite, concrete, steel, vinyl, fiberglass and tile pool or spa applications. Surface construction, wall thickness, plumbing configuration and mounting requirements must be evaluated before installation.

AquaStar manufactures the fitting from durable UV-resistant engineered polymer intended for prolonged exposure to pool water, sunlight and outdoor conditions. The white finish coordinates with white AquaStar covers and many light-colored pool surfaces.

AquaStar offers multiple related adapter fittings for different 1-1/2-inch and 2-inch threaded or slip connections. Hydro-Air retrofit options and separate adapter plates are also available for certain existing wall fittings and drain configurations.

This fitting is part of a critical suction-safety assembly. Installation must follow AquaStar instructions, VGBA requirements, applicable codes and the hydraulic design of the pool or spa system.
