Description

The AquaStar 10MF101 10-Inch Round MoFlow Suction Outlet Cover and Frame provides an anti-entrapment drain-cover assembly for compatible concrete swimming pools and spas. The package includes a white MoFlow cover, matching round mud frame and manufacturer-specified corrosion-resistant mounting screws.

The MoFlow design distributes suction across an approximately 31.3-square-inch open area. Its low-profile round construction helps maintain circulation while reducing the concentrated suction conditions associated with older drain-cover designs.

AquaStar published legacy specifications rate the assembly for up to 158 GPM when installed on a pool or spa floor and 162 GPM when installed on a wall. The assembly also supports approximately 146.3 GPM at an opening velocity of 1.5 feet per second and 97.6 GPM at 1 foot per second.

These ratings require a compliant sump with at least 3 inches of depth and a minimum 2-inch plumbing connection. The actual permitted system flow depends on installation orientation, sump geometry, pipe configuration, manufacturing date and the certification documents supplied with the specific cover.

The round cover uses four mounting points spaced approximately 9-1/2 inches center to center. It fits AquaStar standard 10-inch frames and certain compatible Waterway and Color Match frames, but the existing installation must be measured before ordering or installation.

The cover and mud frame are manufactured from UV-resistant engineered polymer intended for long-term exposure to sunlight, treated pool water and outdoor environments. Four 316 stainless-steel screws provide corrosion-resistant attachment to the frame.

The white finish coordinates with many plaster, quartz, aggregate and other light-colored pool finishes. Additional AquaStar MoFlow models are available in other sizes and configurations for installations with different sump dimensions or hydraulic requirements.

This drain cover is a safety component and must be installed according to the AquaStar instructions, applicable certification documents, VGBA requirements and local codes. AquaStar specifies replacement no later than five years after installation or sooner if the cover becomes cracked, warped, brittle, loose or otherwise damaged.

AquaStar currently lists the 10MF series as discontinued. Existing inventory may have been manufactured under different certification periods, so the date molded into the cover and the documentation packaged with it must be reviewed before installation.
